Kics Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Ibaraki City, Osaka, President and CEO: Iwao Akamizu; hereinafter "Kics") , an affiliated company of Kobayashi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Chuo-ku, Osaka, President: Kazumasa Kobayashi) has announced that it entered into an agreement for providing outsourcing IT services with TOYOTA WOODYOU HOME. In accordance with the agreement, Kics will handle this business for TOYOTA as the newly established Kics Northern Kanto Business Department.
The following will be outsourced to Kics 1) sales of IT equipment such as POS registers and computers, 2) maintenance and repair of equipment sold, 3) systems development on contract, 4) sales of package software such as sales administration software manufactured by Kics, and 5) outsourced EOS processing and tallying calculations for their head offices. Net sales were \870 million as of March 2002. Employees who have been engaged in the above businesses will work for Kics, in the same business field.
Kics has acquired many accounts in Northern Kanto area (north of Tokyo) as a result of this agreement. It is expected that the company will generate a synergy effect by further expanding transactions and acquiring new accounts in the area, where it used to have no base at all.
